FreshFest pairs up great chefs with local produce to create tantalizing tasters, and the results are DELICOUS! Add wine, beer and cooler samples, music, a silent auction in support of the Station, and you get an evening you won’t want to miss. The Third Annual event returns to the CASO Railway Station in St. Thomas on Thurday August 25th, 2011, 5-9pm.

Savour Elgin will again be an important part of FreshFest, as sponsors of the outdoor tented area where you will find information about the exciting Savour Elgin Culinary Trail, plus an area to relax, mingle and enjoy the music of Matthew and the Birds.

New this year, the CASO Station Waiting Room will be the departure point for some interesting culinary discussion with Food Workshops with Daniel Szoller and cheeses from Monforte Dairy.

Savour Elgin is a program with a goal to promote and enhance culinary tourism in Elgin County and St. Thomas.  The Savour Elgin trail is a route through Elgin County that visits some of the best restaurants, farms, wineries, and other culinary attractions that focus on food and drink that’s local and unique to Elgin County and St. Thomas.

Other activities of the Savour Elgin program include: participation in and partnership with culinary and agricultural events as well as facilitation of connections between food producers, distributors, and suppliers.
