Matthew and the Birds have been playing together since the winter of 2008. Their sound contains a perfect blend of pop and jazz which led them to win two battle of the bands. They have played in London, Hamilton, Woodstock, Sarnia and St. Thomas. In the winter of 2009 they recorded “Remnants of What We Reminisced” with Andy Magoffin, who has produced a number of artists including The Great Lake Swimmers, Jim Guthrie, Raised by Swans, The Two-Minute Miracles. They were shortlisted for Local Album of the Year, nominated for a London Music Award for best Pop artist, and nominated for Traditional/Folk roots at the Jack Richardson Music Awards.
